Christ has died! Christ is risen! Christ will come again!
The Easter journey commences with Jesus and his friends, the disciples, entering Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to cries of joy and adoration. However, following a last meal with his friends, these quickly turn into cries of scorn and derision as the crowd, whipped up by the various religious authorities, bay for his blood. Following a series of show trials, and the resultant mockery of justice, he is sent to his death upon a cross alongside two common criminals.
Yet this is not the end of the journey, for three days later he rises again from the dead thus validating his claim to be God among us in human form, and paving the way for each one of us to commence our own journey of faith from death to life.
If you would like to know more about the central claims of the Christian faith, please contact the Vicar, the Revd Paul Reynolds, or speak with one of the clergy team after any of the Easter services. They will be only too pleased to help you in any way possible.
